Manage Scan Quotas
This guide explains how scan quotas work in Slim.io and how to monitor your organization’s usage.
Time required: 5 minutes
Prerequisites:
- Access to the Customer Dashboard
Scan quotas are configured during onboarding based on your organization’s subscription tier. Contact your account manager or sales@slim.io to adjust quota limits.
Understanding Quota Limits
Your organization’s scan capacity is governed by your subscription tier:
| Quota | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Max Scans / Month | Total scan jobs your organization can initiate per billing period | 100 |
| Max Files / Scan | Maximum files processed per individual scan job | 500,000 |
| Max Concurrent Workers | Parallel scan workers allowed simultaneously | 10 |
| Max Storage (GB) | Findings storage allocation | 50 |
| Retention (Days) | How long scan results are retained | 365 |
Monitoring Usage
In the Customer Dashboard, navigate to Settings > Usage to view:
- Scans used this month vs. monthly limit
- Files scanned this month
- Storage consumed vs. allocation
- Days until quota reset
Alert Thresholds
Slim.io generates alerts as your usage approaches quota limits:
- Warning (80%) — An in-dashboard warning appears when you reach 80% of any quota.
- Critical (95%) — Email and Slack alerts are triggered at 95% consumption.
- At Limit (100%) — Depending on your tier configuration:
- Block — New scans are rejected until the next billing period
- Overage — Scans continue with overage charges applied
Example:
Max Scans / Month: 100
Warning at: 80 scans (80%)
Critical at: 95 scans (95%)
At 100: Block new scansConfiguring Alert Channels
Set up notifications for quota alerts:
- Navigate to Settings > Notifications.
- Add notification channels for quota warnings:
- Email — Team email addresses
- Slack — Webhook URL for your ops channel
- Webhook — Custom HTTP endpoint for integration with ticketing systems
- Select which alert levels trigger each channel (warning, critical, or both).
Per-Workspace Quotas
For organizations with multiple workspaces, quotas can be allocated at the workspace level:
- The organization’s total quota is distributed across workspaces
- Each workspace’s scan usage counts against its allocated quota
- Quota warnings are generated per workspace when approaching limits
- Org administrators can reallocate quota between workspaces
Organization Quota: 1,000 scans/month
→ Production Workspace: 500 scans/month
→ Staging Workspace: 300 scans/month
→ Development Workspace: 200 scans/monthRequesting Quota Changes
To increase your scan quotas or change your subscription tier:
- Contact your account manager or email sales@slim.io.
- Quota increases are applied immediately upon approval.
- Decreases take effect at the start of the next billing period.
